Steven Moore is a marimbist, percussionist, educator and composer from Newcastle upon Tyne, United Kingdom.

Recently Qualified with a Bachelor of Arts in music performance with first Class honours, Steven also achieved the award for best university performance.

Accompanied by the Associate of Trinity College London (In Percussion) he now works as a freelance solo musician with over 20 years of experience. Steven continues his academic studies at Leeds University where he will achieve the Masters in Performance on Marimba. Steven continues under the tutelage of various teachers including Dame Evelyn Glennie.

Steven is regularly seen performing solo works and working with professional ensembles including; Northumberland Orchestral Society, New Tyneside Orchestra, Sunderland Symphony Orchestra, Wilmslow Symphony, Uppingham Orchestra. Theatre work has always been a passionate place for Steven to work, allowing to develop multi-percussion skills. Each performance presents new challenges with favourite performances including ‘Jesus Christ Superstar’, ‘Spamalot’, ‘Pricilla’ and ‘Chity Bang Bang’.

As a new composer Steven is currently producing his first book of solo works. These will be performed and released to the public soon. Check out his events if you would like to attend and be first to get a copy of his music.

Starting teaching at the age of 19, Stevens career in education has taken many different paths. Much in demand as a tutor, Steven teaches for Yamaha Tyneside, in schools across the north east and private tuition. Passion is at its highest when running workshops, which are fast becoming his primary work. Co-ordinating with schools and businesses across the UK, customised events in percussion are produced to meet each individual needs.
